PURPOSE STATEMENT Conversion to Christ Conversion to Church Conversion back to the World At JPL we seek to communicate the Good News which is called "The Gospel" of Jesus Christ in such a way that people experience conversions in their life: a conversion to Christ, to the church, and back to the world as a follower of Christ and the church. CORE VALUES The Great Commission: Jesus told us our mission is to reach out to those who don't know him. We want to help people discover and experience a relationship with Jesus and then reveal it to the world around them. (Mt. 28:19-20; 2Pt.3:9) The Great Commandment: It is our priority to love God, and you can't love God without loving people. We believe in relational Christianity, where small groups, accountability, and open honesty allows us to grow into the masterpiece God called us to be. (Matthew 22:36-40) The Church as Team: The Bible teaches that we all have powerful spiritual gifts, and that God's will is for us to all work together as a team to accomplish his plans. JPL structure is simple and designed to meet measurable goals. (Ephesians 4:11-16) Creative Communication: The gospel is the power of God. It is our desire to present it in a clear, relevant and captivating manner that touches the mind and the heart. (Romans 1:16; I Corinthians 9:22-23) Every Member is a Minister: God has created us as his masterpiece. Everyone is a 10 in some area. The role of the pastors in the church are to identify the gifts and dreams of the volunteers and help equip them to become the masterpiece God created them to be. Every believer is given gifts and spiritual authority to serve God in some way. (Ephesians
Excellence: Loving and serving Christ with all our heart, soul and mind can lead to nothing less than excellence. Excellence is not perfection, but a commitment to continually growing and improving into the best we can be in our spiritual gifts and character. (Mark 7:37; Colossians 3:17) Acceptance: We accept people as they are and give them the opportunity to discover and experience the love and truth of Jesus Christ and His people. Life is a process, but there is no spiritual growth or spiritual unity outside of love and truth. The Bible is the Truth. JPL stands against unhealthy and indirect forms of communication such as gossip and manipulation. (Ephesians 4:2-3, 12-16) Contagious Christianity: There are many ways to reach people for Jesus Christ, depending on our gifts and personality. As each believer develops genuine relationships with friends and family and extends an invitation to them people are led to Jesus Christ, one by one. (John 1:35-51; 4:1-38; Acts
